I this article I want to show how Islam fits the Antichrist religion better than Catholicism.
Let’s start by pointing out how the word “antichrist” is used in Scripture. The word appears 5 times in the New Testament. All 5 times are found in the epistles of John. As we examine them we will find a reoccurring theme.
The Bible calls it the spirit of antichrist. I believe we can apply this to the religion of antichrist, the system of antichrist, and the doctrine of antichrist, you will see what I mean as we look at these verses.
Let’s start in 1 John Chapter 4:3:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (1 John 4:3)
The first thing that we learn here is that the spirit of antichrist is someone who does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This spirit is not of God. If someone denies Jesus Christ as God come in the flesh, that person is the spirit of antichrist. That person is following the doctrine of antichrist.
I looked at this verse first because it gives us an overview of how the term “antichrist” is used. Now lets go to 1 John Chapter 2 which will show us the finer points.
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. (1 John 2:18)
The word appears twice in this verse. We learn that we are in the last time when we see more of these antichrists.
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (1 John 2:22)
Anyone who denies that Jesus is the Son of God and that God is the Father is antichrist.
For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. (2 John 1:7)
The reoccurring theme is the denying of the deity of Jesus Christ. The spirit of antichrist denies the coming of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and God the Son. It denies that God is the Father. All who do this are deceivers and antichrists.
Let me ask an important question. How does this fit the Roman Catholic Church? I was taught, as were many of you, that the Antichrist would come from the Roman Catholic Church and the the Roman Catholic Church would be the religion of the Antichrist. The doctrine of antichrist does not fit the Catholic Church’s doctrine at all. The Catholic Church has a lot of false teaching, but the Catholic Church is correct on the Trinity and the deity of Jesus Christ.
As we can see, the spirit of antichrist does not fit Catholicism, but it does fit Islam to a T. One of the core teachings of Islam is that “Allah hath no son.”
The Dome of the Rock is a very important Islamic structure built about 70 years after the death of Muhammad. The Qur’an calls it the place of the night journey of Muhammad. He was supposedly taken from Mecca and landed at the Temple Mount in the silver mosque and walked to where they say the temple used to be. It was here where they say Muhammad ascended up to Heaven. They call it his “Mirage.” Allah supposedly revealed many mysteries to him at this time.
If you were to join me at the Temple Mount, and we were to stand looking at the Dome of the Rock, we would see Arabic inscriptions. They are both inside and outside. It repeats over and over again “Allah hath no son.” Islam is telling the Christians that we don’t have the Son of God. It is telling the Jews they don’t have God the Father. Do you see how this fits with what the Bible says about the spirit of antichrist?
The antichrist religion is the denial of Jesus Christ being the Son of God, and God being the Father. This is a perfect fit with the religion of Islam.
Revelation 13 talks about two beasts. Verses 1-10 talk about the first beast that we often refer to as The Antichrist.
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. (Revelation 13:1-10)
The Bible doesn’t call him the Antichrist, it calls him the man of sin, the man of perdition, or the beast. There are 2 reasons he is called the Antichrist. First, he tries to deceive the world into thinking that he is the Messiah. The second reason his is called the Antichrist is because he stands against everything Jesus Christ taught and preached.
We see that this first beast is going to be the political leader. He is the one that will make the 7 year peace agreement with Israel, which he will later break.
In this passage he is called a blasphemer. We are told that he is empowered by the dragon. Revelation Chapter 12 is given to teaching us about the dragon. We learn that the dragon is Satan, himself. The first beast will worship the dragon. We also learn that all who are not written in the book of life will worship this beast, the Antichrist.
Isn’t it interesting that when we look at Bible prophecy through the lens of Islam how clear things become.
