CNN is putting the employees of the American Family Association in harm’s way by listing them as a hate group, both through their new outlets, and on their website. They have taken it down from their website as of this writing, but they do still have links as to why they think this organization is a hate group.
Fortress of Faith broadcasted on American Family Radio for three years. We grew too fast, and had to cut back because we didn’t have the staff or the funds to continue on their network.
The American Family Association was listed by Barna Research as the fourth most influential organization in America on cultural issues.
The American Culture & Faith Institute (ACFI), under the leadership of George Barna, recently released a national survey of Christian conservatives who identified organizations that they believe had “the most positive impact on American society during 2016.”
The American Center For Law And Justice led the list. Jay Sekulow is the chief counsel for the ACLJ, and is also one of President Trump’s legal counsels. Here is the list of the top 20:
The reason CNN has done this is because of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The SPLC started back in the 60s. It was trying to protect the rights of Blacks during the Civil Rights Movement. They were taking the white supremacist organizations that were doing criminal harm to the Black population to court. They started off doing something that was good by protecting those who needed help. The problem is, they became to big for their boots, and they certainly have a liberal, left wing, bent. They started going after anything or anyone they didn’t agree with them.
The APLC has about a 320 million dollar annual budget. It would be great if Christian non-profit groups had that kind of budget.
They started publishing hate group and extremist lists. Here is their statement on this issue:
The SPLC is the organization most widely associated with tracking hate groups in the United States. It maintains lists of hate groups, which they define as groups that “… have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics”. It says that hate group activities may include speeches, marches, rallies, meetings, publishing, leafleting, and criminal acts such as violence. (Not all groups so listed by the SPLC engage in criminal activity.) The process for determining which groups are included involves “talking through” cases that are not clear-cut.
They have put anyone who speaks out against the evils of Islam on their list. Fortress of Faith was classified as a hate group by this group about two years ago.
CNN and other news organizations, when they mention a group on this list, will add a statement that the group is on the SPLC’s hate group list. CNN has gone a step farther by designating the American Family Association as a hate group themselves. The reason they have done this is, they stand for traditional marriage and they stand for Christian values. Standing for those things that this country was founded upon now merits the designation as a hate group.
The American Family Association has been urging CNN to stop using the SPLC as a source because it has a very shady past. When they place Dr. Ben Carson on their list as an extremist, you understand how far off base and how biased they are. The reason he is on their list is, he supports traditional marriage. Again, it is interesting that standing for traditional values is now considered hateful and extreme.
The SPLC has listed the Family Research Counsel as a hate group. The FRC stands for traditional marriage, biblical values, and say that homosexuality is not a natural act, but that it is a perversion. One of the readers of the SPLC’s list took his gun to the FRC to shoot their employees. Fortunately there was a security guard in the lobby. There was a shootout, and the security guard was hit, but he was able to kill this person who came enraged because of what he read on the SPLC’s list. This list was his motivation to go and try to kill Christians. They have this black mark on their record.
The above incident shows that the SPLC is, itself, an extremist group. They are actually spewing hate against anyone that does not agree with them. They are strongly anti-Christian. They get tax exempt status for doing what they do.
Tomorrow we are going to hear from Robert Spenser because this story goes much further. We are on this list, as are Robert Spenser and others, and you know what happened to us with Facebook. Facebook has removed Fortress of Faith and others who are speaking out and revealing the truth about Islam and the evil that it does in the name of its god, Allah.
The Attack In Barcelona
Let me return to the terrorist attacks in Spain for a moment. One was in Barcelona, and the other in a smaller town. There were 14 people killed and over 100 injured in this jihadi attack. The news media is reporting that they are afraid of a backlash against the Muslims because of this heinous attack. It seems like no matter what happens, Muslims are always painted as the victims. Islam was responsible for this attack, but we had better not say anything about Muslims or Islam as a cause of the attack. They want to downplay the Islamic connection. The News media is not making the non-Muslims who were killed or injured the victims, the real victims, according to them, are the Muslims. What a strange world we live in today.
Let me close with a Bible verse:
Woe unto them that call1 evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
