Merging
Two World Religions
The term ‘Chrislam’ is the conjunction of two nouns, Christianity with Islam. It is a hybrid doctrine that is fast becoming a religion of its own.
This pseudo merger of the world’s two largest faiths, Christianity, (2.2 billion adherents) and Islam (1.6 billion followers), is the dream of every ecumenical and inter-faith type. However, this marriage is not made in Heaven but rather in Hell as their doctrines are nothing short of heresy. The irony is that Islam and Christianity have as much in common as chalk and cheese. For example, the doctrine of the deity of Jesus Christ is paramount to the Christian faith while in Islam it is equally paramount to deny the deity of Christ. The greatest sin in Islam is called ‘shirk’, making something equal with God. Muslims claim that Christians blaspheme and are guilty of shirk by making Jesus God.
So how do religious leaders of both Islam and Christianity reconcile the divisions and contradictions between Islam and Christianity? They focus on what they have in common as both faiths are from the same family, Abraham’s family. Both see Adam, Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus as men that feared God and that God ministered through.
Most of the faithful will readily see the obvious contradictions of Chrislam, however it seems that America is ripe for this deception. In 2011, the Barna Research Group did a study on pluralism in America. The report revealed that six out of ten American adults believe that the God of the Qur’an is the same as the God of the Bible. Of that six out of ten, forty percent described themselves as born again believers. This, by the way, illustrates how poorly the pulpits of America are doing in teaching theology.
There are four major sources behind this movement. The first is fault of Christian missionaries, the second if the effort of Muslims trying to do their Dawah (evangelism) and draw Christians to their faith. The third source has influenced our former President, Barak Obama. The last source is coming from a world class diplomat who is influencing powerful people in our world today.
a. The Insider Movement
Inside movement is a technic developed and practiced by Christian ecumenical and inter-faith types within the Christian world. It is popular with Fuller Theological Seminary and Frontiers. There are two issues at play here. The first is penalty that Islam demands for leaving Islam. The Shariah law book is clear about killing apostates, here is the ruling out of their law book [ROT o8.1 When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.]
Not only are converts at risk of loosing their lives, the missionary is also at risk of being killed, jailed or deported. So in an effort to protect their themselves and their convert, the convert is encourage to stay ‘inside’ their Muslim identity.
The second issue is more sinister. The missionary waters down the gospel in the effort to ‘Contextualize’ or ‘Synchrotize’ the Gospel into the Muslim mind. They know Muslims already see Jesus as a prophet, so they tell the Muslim they just need to ‘add’ more to their understanding about Jesus. Jesus can also be your savior, you don’t have to leave Muhammad as a prophet, just add Jesus as being your savior.
Phil Parshall published the results of a study of these Insider Believers in his book Muslim Evangelism on pages 69-70. It was study done of 72 pastors in 66 villages.
100% of will say the Shahada – “There is no God but Allah and his prophet is Muhammad.”
50% still go the traditional Mosque every Friday
31% go to Mosque every day.
96% say there are four Holy books – The Torah – The Zabur (Psalms/Proverbs) – The Injeel (Gospels) – The Qur’an
66% say the Qur’an is the greatest of the four books.
45% do not affirm God as the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
45% feel peace of close to God listening or reading the Qur’an.
It is important to interject here that a Muslim is still a Muslim unless he publicly renounces his faith in Islam. Unless missionaries are requiring Muslims to renounce their Islamic faith, the Muslim still thinks he is Muslim and just adding some Christian doctrines to their religion.
Furthermore, the Insiders have created a Muslim Friendly Bible and removed all the things that offend Muslims. As Muslims reject the Trinity and think it blasphemous to say that God has a son these Bibles lose vital doctrines. Take a look at Matt 28:18 reads
THE HOLY BIBLE “…baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit…” | MUSLIM FRIENDLY BIBLE “…cleanse them by water in the name of Allah, his Messiah and his Holy Spirit…” |
Shamefully, baptism now becomes an efficacious work to wash away sin. Also God the Father and God the son are removed from the Holy Scriptures.
Needless to say, the Insider Movement is not creating true converts who have entered in at the Narrow Gate, but rather they are creating false converts who are entering at the Wide Gate that leads to destruction.
b. The Common Word Movement
This is a Muslim initiative whose aim is to bring Christians and Muslims together in harmony and agree upon what the two faiths have in common. 138 Muslim scholars sent out an open letter to Christian leaders in 2007, inviting them to join them and work out their differences. The religion department at Yale University formed an agreeable response and on their webpage (www.acommonword.com) is a list of signatories who have signed the Common Word document. Some notable signatures are Rick Warren, Robert Schuller and Fuller Theological Seminary and leaders of Emergent movement to mention just a few.
The Muslims quote a verse from the Qur’an in their invitation to Christians from Surah 6:34 “O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God….”
Many are surprised that the Qur’an makes many appeals to Christians and Jews. 239 times the Qur’an says ‘O People of the Book’. What Book? The Bible! So the Qur’an is proclaiming a message to the Jews and Christians.
This verse starts off peacefully and then it punches us in the nose. Come, let us worship God together but you can’t say Jesus is God. Let me explain what they mean by “ascribe no partner unto Him.” They mean shirk; making someone equal with God. Don’t ascribe Jesus as a partner (equal) to God.
Because of this movement, Christians are inviting Muslims into their churches to read scriptures together and they hold Children of Abraham meetings and other inter-faith meetings.
c. Black Liberation Theology
The false doctrine of James Cone has been received by both Muslims and Christians. The message of Black Liberation Theology is that the White is evil and the ‘Oppressor.’ The Black man is the victim or the ‘Oppressed.’ One day with God’s help, the Black man will overcome his oppressors (the white man) and will make them their servants. Just like Jesus, who was oppressed, and “lynched” on a tree. They refer to Christ as a black man being lynched and oppressed. This racist doctrine is popular in many Black churches and a Muslim cult that originated within the US.
America’s two most famous preachers of Black Liberation Theology hail from Chicago. For Islam, it is the NOI (Nation of Islam), now led by Louis Farrakhan; and for Christianity, it is the Trinity United Church of Christ that was led by Jeremiah Wright. In 1982 the church newsletter called the Trumpet Magazine, announced that Jeremiah
Wright bestowed a Life Time Honor Award on Louis Farrakhan as a ‘Man of God’. Isn’t it odd that a ‘Christian’ church honors a prominent Muslim? This is the same church that Barak and Michelle Obama were members of for 20 years.
The one question I am asked often when I speak at Churches across the country is “Is Obama a Muslim?” Perhaps the following words of Jeremiah Wright himself will answer that question. Ed Klein, former editor-in-chief of the New York Times Magazine, secured a two-hour (taped) interview with Jeremiah Wright. Mr. Klein, a liberal, was researching for his new book “The Amateur” on President Obama that was published in 2013. Two scandalous issues were revealed from this interview. The first is that Wright was paid $20,000 to go away during Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign. The second was a revelation about Obama’s conversion. Here is a portion of the transcript of Klein’s interview with Sean Hannity on May 14, 2012 about this meeting:
Klein Speaking: “The Reverend Wright told me on tape that Obama came to him and said, ‘I need some spiritual advice. I don’t know exactly who I am.’
And the Reverend Wright said, (this is on tape) ‘Well we know your Islam background, and you have that. But what you need now is some coaching on Christianity.’
Klein Speaking: “And I asked the Reverend Wright, ‘Did you convert him from being a Muslim to a Christian?’”
He said (Wright), ‘Well I don’t know if I could go that far but I can tell you that I made it comfortable for him to accept Christianity without having to renounce his Islamic background.’”
Obama was taught that he could add to his Muslim faith that Jesus could be his savior and not have to renounce is Muslim faith. In the eyes of Islam, you are still Muslim unless you renounce your Muslim faith. We have heard Obama give his testimony that his pastor taught him how Jesus could be his savior, but we have never heard Obama publicly renounce Islam nor get Baptized.
I put it to you that Obama is a confused man. He was taught he could be both Christian and retain his Muslim faith too. We saw Obama always favor Islam over Christianity when he had a choice which I think shows his loyalty to Islam. In short, Obama, who was once the most powerful man in the World has been influenced greatly by Chrislam.
d. The Tony Blair Faith Foundation
Mr. Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister of Great Britain, has played a crucial role in Chrislam. British Newspapers have reported Mr. Blair saying that he reads a chapter out of the Bible and the Qur’an every day. He is close to his Sister-in-law Lauren Booth who is not only a convert to Islam but also a public advocate for Islam. Tony Blair has successfully recruited many State colleges throughout America who have a religious department to unite Islam with Christianity. Yale University has taken the lead, where incidentally, Mr. Blair lectures as an adjunct professor in their Theology department.
Tony Blair is a world class diplomat and I personally have a lot of respect for Mr. Blair despite his political views. For most of my adult years in England, he was my Prime Minister and was a great leader. He is deeply religious and a man of strong convictions and will stay the course regardless of the opposition he may receive. He was under enormous pressure to bail out on America on the Iraq War, but refused to pull the British troops out. He believed it was morally right to stay and finish the job which was very unpopular among the British voters.
The problem with a man of his mettle is that if they have the wrong values, they can do a lot of wrong. Most people do not know what Mr. Blair did when we resigned as Prime Minister of England. A week after his resignation we hear the announcement that he had joined his wife’s Church and became a Catholic. (I don’t think you can be the Prime Minister and not be Church of England) Then we hear he meets the Pope to discuss ‘how religions and work together. On the heels of this meeting we get the announcement that
Tony is the new EU (European Union) ambassador to broker peace in the Middle East and sets up his office in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Tony is a bit of a pragmatist in his approach to the divisions in the Middle East. Muslims are fighting Jews. Muslims are also fight Christians. Mr. Blair believes that they all worship the same God of Abraham….if only they work on what they have in common rather than their differences, then perhaps we can have peace in the Middle East. In theory, this sounds great but un-realistic!
I mentioned earlier that Yale University took the lead in responding to the Muslims invitation to join in a ‘Common Word.’ The person who wrote the Christian response to the Muslim leaders was Tony Blair and it resulted in an inter-faith conference at Yale University.
Perhaps the most important issue about Chrislam is not the ‘who’ but the ‘what’. What does Chrislam represent? It represents the making of the ‘One World Religion.’ As Christianity and Islam engulf half of the world’s population, we cannot ignore the significance of this developing merger.
II Thes. 2:3-4 and Rev. 13:15 tell us that the Anti-Christ is going to control the religions and the worship of the world. Uniting the two largest faiths into one will be part of the grand deception that is spoken of in Matt. 24:24. The next step will be the embracing of the first Abrahamic faith, Judaism. The ground work is being hammered out by the ecumenical and inter-faith types who are very serious about their work.
