Islam the Religion

The Sharia Law Book

We are often accused by Muslims of taking things out of context or twisting their meaning. To avoid this accusation, I have used the standard book of Islamic law, which is called “The Reliance of the Traveller” (their spelling), to verify everything. This work is a translation of the Arabik Umdat al-salik, and has the stamp of approval of the greatest scholars and organizations in all Islam.

There are different schools of interpretation within Islam. The largest group by far is Sunni Islam. The Reliance of the Traveller is the official textbook on Islamic law for Sunni Islam. The second largest group is Shi’ite Islam. Their differences are mostly about who is the proper successor to Muhammad and Islamic prophecy. The doctrines we will be looking at are agreed on by all schools of Islam.

Muslims are obligated to lie and mislead when it is necessary to attain a permissible goal. Anything that promotes the advance of Islam is considered a permissible goal.

The following is from The Reliance of the Traveller, section r8.2:

r8.2 (The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said,

“He who settles disagreements between people to bring about good or says something commendable is not a liar.”

“I did not hear him permit untruth to anything people say, except for three things: War, settling disagreements, and a man talking with his wife or she with him (A: in smoothing over differences.”

This is an explicit statement that lying is sometimes permissible for a given interest, scholars having established criteria defining what types of it are lawful. The best analysis of it I have seen is by Imam Abu Hamid Ghazah, who says: “Speaking is a means to achieve objectives. If a praiseworthy aim is attainable through both telling the truth and lying, it is unlawful to accomplish through lying because there is no need for it. When it is possible to achieve such an aim by lying but not by telling the truth, it is permissible to lie if the goal is obligatory… But it is religiously more precautionary in all such cases to employ words that give a misleading impression, meaning to intend by one’s words something that is literally true, in respect to which one is not lying, while the outward purport of the words deceives the hearer, though even if one does not have such an intention and merely lies without intending anything else, it is not unlawful in the above circumstances.

Islam divides the world into two houses: the house of Islam, and the house of war. Because a Muslim can lie in war, they can lie to any unbeliever. If they can say something that is technically true, but in the context is misleading, they are permitted to do so. When they quote the peaceful passages from the Qur’an they are doing this. The Qur’an says there is no compulsion in religion, but they are not telling us that these passages have been abrogated, or superseded by later passages.

Here are links to documents found in the Sharia Law Book. They are from Islamic scholars and the most prominent university in all of Islam stating that is an accurate portrayal of Islamic doctrine.

These documents show the reliability of the English translation of the The Reliance of the Traveller. It is very hard for a Muslim to argue against statements with this kind of support by the clerics of Islam. You can use it when witnessing to Muslims with full confidence that it is a true and accurate expression of Islamic teachings.

Next week we will start looking at Islamic doctrine as presented in the Reliance of the Traveller.

Jihad

Two Kinds of Jihad

I was recently watching the news and an imam was interviewed on the subject of jihad. He said that jihad is a personal struggle against evil. This is a true statement as far as it goes. There are actually two kinds of jihad: the greater jihad, and the lesser jihad.

The Greater of Jihad

This form of jihad is exactly what the imam was talking about. It is called the greater jihad because it concerns every Muslim at all times. It is not called greater because it is more important than the lesser jihad. The lesser jihad is how the religion of Islam is spread, but does not apply to all Muslims at all times.

The Lesser Jihad

This kind of jihad is to war against non-Muslims. It is not lesser because of less importance, but because it will end when Islam conquers the world. When there are no more non-Muslims, there will be no war. Remember, the primary goal of Islam is to make Islam the only religion in the world and to exterminate all who will not submit to Allah.

The greater jihad will continue as long as man exists on this earth. It is greater in scope, not in importance.

The Legal Definition of Jihad

ROT o9.0 JIHAD

Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self, which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad.”

“We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.”

The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b7) is such Koranic verses as:

(1) “Fighting is prescribed for you” (Koran 2:216);

(2) “Slay them wherever you find them” (Koran 4:89);

(3) “Fight the idolators utterly” (Koran 9:36);

and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:

“I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. And their final reckoning is with Allah”

and the hadith reported by Muslim,

“To go forth in the morning or evening to fight in the path of Allah is better than the whole world and everything in it.”

Details concerning jihad are found in the accounts of the military expeditions of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), including his own martial forays and those on which he dispatched others. The former consist of the ones he personally attended, some twenty-seven (others say twenty-nine) of them. He fought in eight of them, and killed only one person with his noble hand, Ubayy ibn Khalaf, at the battle of Uhud. On the latter expeditions he sent others to fight, himself remaining at Medina, and these were forty-seven in number.)”

From this we learn that jihad is legally defined as a war against non-Muslims. The word comes from Muhahada, which is also the root of Mujahedeen, the terrorists in Afghanistan.

You will notice that this legal definition uses quotes from the Qur’an and their Prophet, Muhammad. The law concerning jihad is to be followed by all faithful Muslims for all time; it has never been abrogated or superseded.

The two hadith sources quoted here are from Bukhari and Muslim. These are the two most authoritative collectors of the sayings and traditions (hadith) of Muhammad. They are often called Sahih, meaning they are authentic and approved.

Decrees about Jihad.

Who is obligated to fight in jihad

ROT o9.4 Those called upon to perform jihad when it is a communal obligation are every able bodied man who has reached puberty and is sane.

The objectives of jihad

ROT o9.8 The caliph (o25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o11.4)-which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax.

As you can see, Muslims are commanded to make war with Jews and Christians. The Zoroastrians are a pagan group and many still live in Iran today.

These following paragraphs from the ROT explain the law regarding the practice of Jihad. They speak for themselves and do not need my commentary.

The Rules of Warfare

ROT o9.10 It is not permissible (A: in jihad) to kill women or children unless they are fighting against the Muslims. Nor is it permissible to kill animals, unless they are being ridden into battle against the Muslims, or if killing them will help defeat the enemy. It is permissible to kill old men and monks.

ROT o9.11 It is unlawful to kill a non-Muslim to whom a Muslim has given his guarantee of protection provided the protecting Muslim has reached puberty, is sane, and does so voluntarily

ROT o9.12 Whoever enters Islam before being captured may not be killed or his property confiscated, or his young children taken captive.

ROT o9.13 When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman’s previous marriage is immediately annulled.

Some Muslims refer to Jihad as the sixth pillar of Islam as it is a compulsory duty. Muhammad showed the importance of Jihad in the following statement:

“Standing for an hour in the ranks of battle is better than standing in prayer for sixty years.” (Saheeh related by Ibn Ade and Ibn Asakir from Abu Hurayrah 4/6165.)

Hadith: Sahih al Jaami as Sagheer no. 4305

There is no way Islam can claim that jihad against unbelievers is not an integral part of its character. It is a tyrannical, militant ideology that slaughters all who will not submit to it.

Unraveling the teachings of Islam and explore its historical origins.

Muslims are individuals blinded by a doctrine of hate, desperately in need of conversion through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission centers on love and compassionate teaching, aiming to expose them to the redemptive message of Christ

Old Testament prophets warned of impending judgment and called for God’s people to return back to righteousness. We believe God will not turn a blind eye to our national sins. We seek national repentance, an Awakening Revival.

The Oppression of Women

In light of the fact that Muslim countries are on the United Nations commissions for human and women’s rights it is important that we understand what Islam really teaches about the rights of women. Supporters of Islam are telling us that women have more rights under Islam than those who live under Western values. In this article we will look at what Islam really teaches on this subject.

Sharia Law is not kind to women. If you doubt this, just look at the way women are treated in countries like Saudi Arabia. They were not allowed to drive cars until recently, and then only in very limited circumstances. They are not allowed to be out in public unless accompanied by a man who is a relative. In Pakistan girls are not allowed to go to school or learn how to read and write. ROT provides us with all the evidence we need to make this case against Islam.

Women are sex objects for their husbands

ROT m10.11 (3) It is obligatory for a wife to obey her husband as is customary in allowing him full lawful sexual enjoyment of her person. It is obligatory for the husband to enable her to remain chaste and free of want for sex

This is consistent with the Qur’an in Surah 2:223

“Your wives are as a tilth unto you; so approach your tilth when or how ye will…”

Tilth means a plowed field. Muslim scholars interpret this verse teaching the wife is a field for the man to plant his seed whenever and however he desires.

ROT m11.9 The husband is only obliged to support his wife when she gives herself to him or offers to, meaning she allows him full enjoyment of her person and does not refuse him sex at any time of the night or day.

ROT w45.0 A WIFE’S MARITAL OBLIGATIONS

ROT W45.1 A woman is not obliged to serve her husband by baking, grinding flour, cooking, washing, or any other kind of service, because the marriage contract entails, for her part, only that she let him enjoy her sexually, and she is not obligated to do other than that. (A: Rather, it is considered sunna in our school for the wife to do the housework, and the husband (who is obliged to support her) to earn the living, since this is how the Prophet divided the work between Fatima and Ali.

Islam commands husbands to beat their wives.

The following ruling falls under section P which is for Enormities (Sins). These are grave crimes not just against man, but crimes against Allah.

Beating a disobedient wife is consistent with the Qur’an in Surah 4:34.

ROT p42.0 A WIFE’S REBELLING AGAINST HER HUSBAND (def: m10.12)

ROT p42.1 Allah Most High says: “Men are the guardians of women, since Allah has been more generous to one than the other, and because of what they (men) spend from their wealth. So righteous women will be obedient, and in absence watchful, for Allah is watchful. And if you fear their intractability, warn them, send them from bed, or hit them. But if they obey you, seek no way to blame them” (Koran 4:34).

ROT p42.2 The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:

(1) “Allah will not look at a woman who is ungrateful to her husband, while unable to do without him.”

(2) “When a man calls his wife to his bed and she will not come, and he spends the night angry with her, the angels, curse her until morning.”

(3) “It is not lawful for a woman to fast when her husband is present, save by his leave. Nor to permit anyone into his house except with his permission.”

(4) “Whoever leaves her husband’s house (A: without his permission), the angels curse her until she returns or repents.” (Khalil Nahlawi:) It is a condition for the permissibility of her going out (dis: m 10.3-4) that she take no measures to enhance her beauty, and that her figure is concealed or altered to a form unlikely to draw looks from men or attract them. Allah Most High says, “Remain in your homes and do not display your beauty as women did in the pre-Islamic period of ignorance” (Koran 33.33)

The Bible’s teaching that children are to be treated with compassion is in striking contrast with the treatment of children by Muhammad, who is an example Muslims are to follow. In Islam, sexual mistreatment is the norm for all children, both boys and girls. This deviant behavior should not be accepted in our society…

It is important to remember that the only source of Islam is Muhammad. No one else can validate what he said, and no one else received any revelation from Allah. The Bible, on the other hand, was given through different people over a long period of time. There are some 400 years between the end of the Old Testament and the beginning of the New Testament.  To read the full article click here.

Women are forced into marriages.

This is a growing problem for Muslim girls in Europe. Thousands of British Muslim girls are being taken against their will to Asian countries in order to fulfill contracts of marriage arranged by their parents.

The London Newspaper, The Independent, published a story on how Muslim girls cunningly escaped forced marriages. To prevent being taken against their will, many girls hid a spoon in their underwear hoping it will be picked up by airport security. The girls would then be taken to a private room where they could appeal to the authorities for protection from their parents. According to the newspaper, over 1,500 cases per year are being handled by the Forced Marriage Unit in Britain. Almost half of the incidents involved girls being taken to Pakistan. More than sixty countries were involved. According to the paper, the youngest girl was a two-year old, and the oldest was seventy-one years old.

The rights of guardians

ROT m3.13 Guardians are of two types, those who may compel their female charges to marry someone, and those who may not.

The only guardians who may compel their charge to marry are a virgin bride’s father or father’s father, compel meaning to marry her to a suitable match (def: m4) without her consent.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

This practice is so common in Great Britain that the government has a formed special unit to deal with this crime. The British Government published a pamphlet on FGM which gives the results of a study by the World Health Organization. They estimate three million girls undergo some form of procedure like this in Africa alone. The British Government estimates that more than twenty-thousand girls under the age of fifteen are at risk.

FGM is called female circumcision.

Circumcision is obligatory under Islamic law

ROT e4.3 Circumcision is obligatory for both men and women. For men it consists of removing the prepuce from the penis, and for women, removing the prepuce of the clitoris.

Sunnahs: Abu Dawud, Adab 167 Abu al- Malih ibn `Usama’s father relates that the Prophet said: “Circumcision is a law for men and a preservation of honour for women.”

Women are half the value of a man.

The Organization of Islamic States (OIC) has 57 member states. Of these, only two of them give women equal testimony rights in their courts, they are Tunisia and Oman.

What Muhammad taught on the value of women

… The women asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What is deficient in our intelligence and religion?” He said, “Is not the evidence of two women equal to the witness of one man?” They replied in the affirmative. He said, “This is the deficiency in her intelligence.

Sahih Bukhari 1:6:301

      1.

Women receive half the inheritance of a man

ROT L6.7 …. dividing this share so that each male receives twice the amount of each female

Two women equal one man in court

ROT m3.3 The second integral is that the marriage have witnesses, it not being valid unless two witnesses are present who are: (a) male (O: since a marriage witnessed by a man and two women would not be valid (A: though it would be valid in the Hanafi school));

ROT o24.7 The testimony of the following is legally acceptable when it concerns cases involving property, or transactions dealing with property, such as sales:

(1) two men;

(2) two women and a man;

(3) or a male witness together with the oath of the plaintiff.

ROT o24.8 If testimony does not concern property, such as a marriage or prescribed legal penalties, then only two male witnesses may testify (A: though the Hanafi school holds that two women and a man may testify for marriage).

ROT o24.10 If testimony concerns things which men do not typically see (O: but women do), such as childbirth, then it is sufficient to have two male witnesses, a man and two women, or four women.

Islam is not compatible with America’s Constitution or Western style democracy. Those that tell us that there is a kinder, gentler version of Islam are either ignorant of Islam and its history or are deliberately distorting the truth for whatever motives they may have. To read the full article click here.

We are starting to see persecution of Christians in America. It is not at the level we see in countries in the Middle East, but it has started. The Bible has warned us to expect this.

In America, we have been lulled to sleep in face of a danger that has been creeping in. Those who follow the Qur’an will support or be involved in jihad. To read the full article click here.

Examples of Oppression on Women in the ROT

ROT m11.3 The wife is entitled to what she needs of oil for her hair, shampoo and a comb or the like to stop underarm odor if water and soap will not suffice, and the price of water for her purificatory bath (ghusl) when the reason for it is sexual intercourse or the end of postnatal bleeding, though not if the reason is the end of her monthly period or something else (dis:m11.1).

ROT m11.4 The husband is not obliged (N: but rather is recommended) to pay for his wife’s cosmetics, doctor’s fees, the purchase of medicine for her, and similar expenses (A: though he must pay for expenditures connected with childbirth).

ROT m11.9 The husband is only obliged to support his wife when she gives herself to him or offers to, meaning she allows him full enjoyment of her person and does not refuse him sex at any time of the night or day. She is not entitled to support from her husband when:

(1) she is rebellious even if for a moment;

(2) she travels without his permission, or with his permission but for one of her own needs;

(3) she assumes ihram for hajj of `umra (def: j3);

(4) or when she performs a voluntary fast without her husband’s permission.

ROT m13.4 A woman has no right to custody of her child from a previous marriage when she remarries.

ROT m6.7(5) nor is it lawful or valid for a Muslim woman to be married to anyone besides a Muslim.

ROT p59.0 WOMEN WEARING FALSE HAIR AND THE LIKE

ROT P59.1 The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Allah curse women who wear false hair or arrange it for others, who tattoo or have themselves tattooed, who pluck facial hair or eyebrows or have them plucked, and women who separate their front teeth for beauty, altering what Allah has created.”

ROT f12.4 …It is better for women to pray at home than at the mosque (A; whether they are young or old). It is offensive for an attractive or young woman to come to the mosque to pray though not offensive for women who are not young or attractive when this is unlikely to cause temptation.

ROT f18.14…. It is offensive for women who attend the Friday prayer to wear perfume or fine clothes.

ROT m2.3 It is unlawful for a man to look at a woman who is not his wife or one of his unmarriageable kin, though part excludes her voice, which is not unlawful to listen to as long as temptation is unlikely. Allah Most High says, “Tell believers to lower their gaze” (Koran 24:30).

Women are deficient in intellect.

… “O people! Give alms.” Then he went towards the women and said. “O women! Give alms, for I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-Fire were you (women).” The women asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! What is the reason for it?” He replied, “O women! You curse frequently, and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen anyone more deficient in intelligence and religion than you…”

Sahih Bukhari 2:24:541

Women are the inhabitants of Hell.

Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas: The Prophet said: “I was shown the Hell-fire and that the majority of its dwellers were women who were ungrateful.”

Sahih Bukhari 1:2:28

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: Once Allah’s Apostle went out to the Musalla (to offer the prayer) o ‘Id-al- Adha or Al-Fitr prayer. Then he passed by the women and said, “O women! Give alms, as I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hellfire were you (women)…”

Sahih Bukhari 1:6:301

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Abbas: The people say, “O Allah’s Apostle! We saw you taking something from your place and then we saw you retreating.” The Prophet replied… “I also saw the Hell-fire and I had never seen such a horrible sight. I saw that most of the inhabitants were women.” The people asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! Why is it so?” The Prophet replied, “Because of their ungratefulness.”

Sahih Bukhari 2:18:161

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: On ‘Id ul Fitr or ‘Id ul Adha Allah’s Apostle (p.b.u.h) went out to the Musalla. After finishing the prayer, he delivered the sermon and ordered the people to give alms. He said, “O people! Give alms.” Then he went towards the women and said. “O women! Give alms, for I have seen that the majority of the dwellers of Hell-Fire were you (women).”

Sahih Bukhari 2:24:541

Narrated Usama: The Prophet said, “I stood at the gate of Paradise and saw that the majority of the people who entered it were the poor, while the wealthy were stopped at the gate (for the accounts). But the companions of the Fire were ordered to be taken to the Fire. Then I stood at the gate of the Fire and saw that the majority of those who entered it were women.”

Sahih Bukhari 7:62:124

Muhammad compared women to dirty animals.

Narrated ‘Aisha: It is not good that you people have made us (women) equal to dogs and donkeys.

Sahih Bukhari 1:90:498

Narrated ‘Aisha: The things which annul the prayers were mentioned before me. They said, “Prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey and if a woman pass in front of the praying people.” I said, “You have made us dogs.”

Sahih Bukhari 1:9:490

Now that you know what the clerics of Islam teach concerning women, do you believe that they have more rights than Western women? If you do, you have a distorted view of what the rights are. Women are actually treated no better than animals when the true teachings of Islam are followed.

This is a warning to those who blindly accept what the proponents of Islam are telling us. They must lie and mislead on this subject because when we know the truth, we will stand against Islam’s goal to become dominant in our country.

Did you know that Muslims are the most neglected mission field. There are 1.8 Billion Muslims in the world according to Pew Research. The Zwemer Institute estimates that only 1% of all Christian missionaries are targeting Muslims.

We desire to recruit, train, and mentor people in Missions to Muslims Network to establish missionaries to the mission field that is coming into our country by the thousands. To learn more about Missions to Muslims Network click here.

The Sinking Qur’an

Although I know a lot more about Islam than most people, this subject is not my real area of expertise. My knowledge comes from working with an apologetic ministry that deals with Islam. One cannot work with the subject every day without learning a lot.

There are a great number of books dealing with the issue of Islam, and more appear on the market every day. This being the case, why did I feel it was necessary to write another?

Whether or not we want to admit it, we are at war with those who believe that it is their duty to their god to convert, subjugate, or kill, all who do not agree with them. There is a principle of war that is neglected in most books about Islam. The principle is: you must know your enemy if you want to defeat him.

That being said, the answer is that most of the books written on Islam, are written to expose what we call “Radical Islam.” It is my contention that radical Islam is not the problem, real Islam is.

This is my second book on the subject. The first was, “Who Is Our Enemy? Is It Radical Islam?” The purpose of the first book was to show that radical means a departure from what is normal, and radical Islam is a form of Islam that departs from normal, historic, Islam. In that book I showed that the real “radicals” are the reformed Muslims, because they have departed from the Islam of Muhammad.

The purpose of this second book is to present the true Islam from the point of view of the Islamic clerics and scholars. I have taken great pains to show that the official teachings from the scholars and the universities are what we find with ISIS and the other “terrorist” groups.

The Most Important Point.

The point that is missing from most of the other books I have read on the subject of Islam is, they quote the Islamic scriptures, but don’t deal with most common answers Muslims give when we tell them what their scriptures say. They will say that we have taken it out of context, or we have misinterpreted it, or it can only be properly understood in Arabic.

The most important point of this book is that there is a source, in English, that is approved by the scholars, clerics, and universities of the Islamic world. I gave you the title at the beginning of this book, it is “The Reliance of the Traveller” (their spelling of traveller).

Here is what the Islamic clerics have to say about the Reliance of the Traveller:

Sheikh ‘Abd al-Wakh Durbui

Sheikh ‘Abd al-Wakh Durbui, the Imam of the Mosque of Darwash Pasha, Damascus, Syria, warrants that Nuh Ha Mim Keller, the man who compiled The Reliance of the Traveller, “…understands the text of this volume and is qualified to expound it and translate it into his native English.”

As a result of Nuh Ha Mim Keller’s qualifications, the Sheikh puts his stamp of approval on this work. If he says he is satisfied with the qualification of the compiler of the book, shouldn’t ordinary Muslims, and those who are not Muslims, but preach a false form of Islam, consider it satisfactory also?

Sheikh Nuh ‘Ali Salman

Sheikh Nuh ‘Alisalman, the Mufti of the Jordanian Armed Forces, in his warrant said, “… I observed his accuracy and integrity in quoting the test…”

The “test” is the work in Arabic from which the information was taken.

A Mufti is a Muslim legal expert who is empowered to give rulings on religious matters. Mufti Alisalman’s ruling is that the integrity is beyond reproach. Shouldn’t quoting from this work prove to all that Islam does believe and practice the things covered in its pages?

the International Institute of Islamic Thought

A report by the International Institute of Islamic Thought on the English translation of ‘Umdat al-salik (Reliance of the Traveller) by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri al-Shafi’i says, “There is no doubt that this translation is a valuable and important work, whether as a textbook for teaching Islamic jurisprudence to English-speakers, or as a legal reference for the use by scholars, educated laymen, and students in this language (English).”

This quote alone should be sufficient to prove that the things taught in The Reliance of the Traveller are an accurate portrayal of true Islamic thought.

The report goes on to say, “As for the correctness of the translation, its accuracy, and its fidelity to the meanings and objects, we had our colleague in the Research Department of the International Institute of Islamic Thought, the scholar Yusul Talal DeLorenzo, member of Fiqh Council of North America and former chief of the Translation Bureau at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, review its texts and check it against the Arabic original. He found that the translation presents the legal questions in a faithful and precise idiom that clearly delivers the complete meaning in a sound English style.”

al-Azhar University

Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, is the foremost university in all of Islam. The vast majority of the Islamic religious leaders are in some way connected with this university. You would be hard pressed to find a greater authority for what Islam believes and practices than this school.

The position of the school says, “… on matters of Islamic law, tenets of faith, and personal ethics and character: we certify that the above-mentioned translation corresponds to the Arabic original and conforms to the practice of faith of the orthodox Sunni Community.”

Remember, Sunni Muslims make up eighty to eighty-five percent of the world’s Muslim population. The Muslim Brotherhood, and most of the terrorist organizations are made up of Sunni Muslims. The issues covered in this book are agreed upon by the vast majority of non-Sunni Muslims also.

What You Should Learn

I have taken the time to give you these quotes from the certifications found in the Reliance of the Traveller because I want those who are reading this and say those who are killing unbelievers in the name of Allah do not represent true Islam to see the unsoundness of their position. The greatest scholars in Islam tell us that they do represent true Islam. This leaves us with the conclusion that those who say Islam is by nature peaceful and non-violent must fall into one of three categories.

The first category is those who are ignorant of the true teachings of Islam. They may be ignorant because they simply have not taken the time to examine the issue, or they may be ignorant because they really don’t want to know the truth. They are, nevertheless, ignorant of the truth. With the obvious danger of the present advances being made by Islam, it would seem to me that everyone would want to know the truth.

The second category is those who know the truth, and don’t want it to get out. There are those in this category who agree with Islam, and who think their ideology is superior to the ideology of the West, especiall superior to Christianity. How they can do so is beyond me. It is pretty obvious that killing those who disagree with you is not superior to having an open debate with them.

Finally, there are those who know the truth and are either afraid to speak about it, or who think that by saying Islam is peaceful and non-violent will change the nature of Islam. I can’t think of a more foolish position to take than this.

Who Are We Fighting?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” (Sun Tzu, The Art of War. 544-496 BC)

Sun Tzu wrote this some 2,500 years ago, but the truth never changes. The reason we have been fighting in the Middle East for nearly 16 years as I write this is we don’t know who we are fighting. We believe that if we defeat ISIS, the Taliban, and the other “radical Islamic groups,” we will win the war on terror. We will not! These groups are symptoms of the problem; the problem is Islam.

We killed Osama Ben Laden, and put al-Qaeda on its heels for a short time. ISIS rose up in its place because that is the nature of Islam. We are making gains against ISIS today, but if we finally defeat this group, another will rise up to replace them. It has always been that way, and it will not change until we deal with the real problem, Islam.

I have shown the real nature of Islam. I am sure that some will try to argue with me on the subject, but if they do, they will be arguing against the greatest Islamic clerics. The clerics say that Islam is to exercise war against all unbelievers until Islam dominates the world. When this happens, and then alone, will Islam bring peace.

A Concluding Thought

When we read about the Tribulation period in the Bible, we see a temporary peace. The government type seen in this period is typical of Islam. Under this type of government peace can only be temporary. Sooner or later, someone will get tired of living under the sword, and will gather a large enough following to challenge the ruling powers. When this happens, peace will end.

The events predicted in the Bible for the Tribulation seem to indicate that this is what will happen half way through the tribulation. Although not expressly stated, something will cause the Beast to change his tactics. Remember, he comes to power by bringing peace. Things change, and he turns to violence to try and restore peace.

I firmly believe that what we are seeing today is setting this world up for the Tribulation. This means that Christ returning in the air to catch away (rapture) His saints must be on the horizon.

The question I have for each of you reading this is: Are you ready for this event? There is only one way to escape the Tribulation period, and that is to be in Christ. Paul explains you to be saved from the consequences of our sin:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

We can’t earn our way to Heaven, we mst come to God on His terms. We must start by seeing ourselves as sinners who have broken God’s law, and who are deserving of His wrath. We must then turn from our dead works, our efforts to save ourselves by our own merit, and trust fully in the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

If you have heard the Gospel, and have refused to receive Christ for salvation, you will not have a chance after the Rapture of the saints because:

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

Satan will concoct a lie, and God will cause those who have rejected Him to believe it. Their damnation is sure!

Again, I ask, ARE YOU READY FOR CHRIST’S RETURN?
